This project is a central place for audio, video and image libraries for parsing multimedia data (also known as codecs), tags or containers. It is also a place for multimedia data processing libraries. Command line utilities without GUI toolkit dependencies can be placed into this project as well. Please don't place end-user GUI based applications here, put them into multimedia:apps. Base your project on packages in this project instead. This project also serves as development project for packages around this topic in the openSUSE:Factory distribution. GSM 06.10 Lossy Speech Compressor Library and Utilities

Contains the library for a GSM speech compressor. libgsm implements the European GSM 06.10 provisional standard for full-rate speech transcoding, prI-ETS 300 036, which uses RPE/LTP (residual pulse excitation/long term prediction) coding at 13 kbit/s. GSM 06.10 compresses frames of 160 13-bit samples (8 kHz sampling rate) into 260 bits.
